Today we'll be identifying the thoughts and beliefs which lead to self-sabotaging behaviors.
I know this requires courage because change is scary. It pushes us outside our comfort zone. But if you’re ready and willing to let go of those things that no longer serve you, so you can move forward faster...
Your Homework: Be sure to complete the two exercises I reviewed in the video. I imagine it'll take less than 5 minutes to complete them.
Part of overcoming self-sabotage is understanding that it is triggered by fear... we prefer what is comfortable and familiar... especially if there's uncertainty that a plan will work.
That's why quick fixes are so appealing. The feedback loop is quick. So let's focus on creating certainty around your plan today.

With any kind of change, there are always pros and cons. It’s important we’re aware of them so we can address them.
One way to increase your awareness is the Ben Franklin exercise. At the top of the page, write down your habit goal. Draw a line down the middle of the page. On the left side, list all the pros. On the right side, list all the cons.
For the pros, try answering the following questions:
✨Why would you want to get more exercise?
✨ What’s the downside of how things are now?
✨ What would make it worth your while to drink more water?
✨ What could be some advantages of getting 7-9 hours of sleep?
✨ What might be the three best reasons for eating more fruits and vegetables?
For the cons, what comes up for you? I literally want you to argue for the status quo - staying in your comfort zone.
The next time you catch yourself trying to talk yourself out of doing “it” review the PROS to remind yourself of why you want to change.
When we talk about lasting weight loss, let’s be clear. Enduring change doesn’t happen overnight. It requires consistent action over time.
To get that consistency, there must be alignment between our thoughts, emotions and actions. And it all starts with our thoughts and, more specifically, our beliefs and interpretations.
And our brains are more powerful than the search engines on the internet. They are also the epitome of confirmation and negativity bias.
So if you ask it a question like, “Why can’t I lose weight?” It’s going to search through all your past experiences to provide an answer. If you say to yourself, “Why don’t I ever have time to exercise?”
Your brain doesn’t question the premise of your question. It just looks for evidence to justify it.
Today, I provide an exercise for you to use to deactivate your "Frankenstein" brain, and a set of questions to ask that will create more options and opportunities for you to take action.

Today I'm going to review our TLC Method.
If you've been watching, then you know that the cause of our self-sabotaging behaviors is our thoughts.
TLC Method is a 5-step process which combines The Learning Cycle with the Abundance Principle to turn your thoughts from ones that limit you into ones that lift and empower you.
