Rise and Shine - Your Morning Routine

Feb 02, 2020

“If you do the work, if you work hard enough, dreams come true… and if you guys can understand that, then I’m doing my job as a father.” — Kobe Bryant

When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thought that enters your mind?

Are you aware of it or is it so automatic that you don't even know?

Last Sunday, the tragic death of Kobe Bryant - along with that of Gianna, his 13-year-old daughter, and seven others reminds us all to hold our loved ones a little closer and make the most of each and every day.

While Kobe Bryant was by no means perfect, his Mamba mentality is something we can all learn from so...

If you find yourself wanting to hit the snooze button instead of jumping out of bed with a burning desire to get started, how about doing something different with your morning routine?

Here are some suggestions.

  • Sit up and meditate for 10 minutes.
  • Listen to your favorite song - rather than the news.
  • Practice gratitude by naming 3 things you're thankful for in your life.
  • Take a moment for 3 deep breaths. The simple act of calming and focusing your mind can set your intention for the day.
  • Reflect and actively focus on self-affirming thoughts.
  • Think about how good you'll feel when you've accomplished your goals for the day

Those first thoughts set the tone for the rest of your day.  Let's make 'em count. 😉

By the way, if you want to hit the snooze because you haven't gotten enough sleep or didn't sleep well, I'll be covering that in next week's issue of Moxie Matters.

To start your week, here's one of my favorite Kobe Bryant quotes.

Seriously, if you couldn't fail and just had to do the work, what would that To Do List look like?  🤔

Dedicated to helping you live the life you want. ❤️
