#6: Listening To Your Body

In this episode, we'll be talking about when to eat and also when to stop eating – and how that relates to the Hunger Scale – one of the three pillars for lasting weight loss.

And it's certainly been quite a week! With the spread of COVID-19, here's a short list of the reactions and effects, just in the last two weeks.

  • The impact on small businesses, especially local restaurants and retailers in Chinatown
  • A 18% drop in the stock market since February 21, 2020
  • The numerous events like SXSW and Facebooks's annual F8 conference cancelled out of an "abundance of caution"
  • The delayed trips by consumers and restricted air travel by businesses   
  • The run on N95 masks, hand sanitizers, water and toilet paper.

Unfortunately, all signs that indicate the community's behavior is based on fear and anxiety.  We sincerely hope that all of this news coverage isn't creating anxiety for you, but in case it is...

Here's What You Can Do

The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is to:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water (frequently)
  • Wipe down surfaces with disinfectant including your phone
  • Do your best to avoid touching the T-Zone of your face (eyes, nose and mouth).

And for a strong immune system, it's also important to:

  • Get enough sleep (7-9 hours every night)
  • Manage your stress
  • Stay hydrated
  • Exercise regularly
  • Eat nutritious foods that have lots of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
