#90: When You Think 'I Should Be Able To Do It On My Own'

Oct 11, 2021

Do you believe that losing weight is something you should be able to do on your own? This is a really common thought mistake, and one that I’m challenging in this first of a 5-part series on the reasons why you haven't been able to lose weight.

As smart, capable, well-educated professionals, we tend to believe that because we already know what we're supposed to do to lose weight, we should be able to do it without any help.

On the surface, this sounds reasonable. How hard can it be to simply burn more calories than you consume?

And yet, if you still haven't gotten the results you want, I am gently asking, "Why not?"

In my latest podcast, the first of a 5-part series on the reasons why you haven't been able to lose weight, I challenge the statement, "I should be able to do it myself" as one that is simply not accurate or true, and how it impedes our weight loss efforts.
